The LEGO Foundation
In the LEGO Foundation, we aim to make children’s lives better – and communities stronger – by building a future in which Learning through Play empowers children to become creative, engaged, lifelong learners. We do this by making sure the fundamental value of play is understood, embraced and acted upon.

Children grow up facing rapid change, global challenges and a highly interconnected world, all of which affect their future prospects. We believe that sustainable change happens when you transform attitudes and behaviours across society. That’s why we want to work with parents, carers, schools systems, institutions and governments.

The core programmes and activities serve as our main distribution categories :
  • Learning through Play in Early Childhood
  • Connecting Play and Education
  • Communities of Learning through Play
  • LEGO Foundation Centre for Creativity, Play and Learning
The LEGO Foundation supports projects and research in order to achieve a strong, sustained impact, jointly build and share evidence to explain the value of play and promote global dialogue on how children best learn for life. The interested applicants are encouraged to apply for grants via competitive calls.
